Cpl Mark OBrien Smart Home
We are happy to announce that USMC Corporal Mark O’Brien (Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment), his wife and two children received their smart home in East Aurora, NY on October 26, 2017. The home was built as part of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers' Building for America's Bravest program.
The smart home was built with special high tech features to accommodate the needs of Corporal O'Brien who was catastrophically injured on November 8, 2004 when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his Humvee during a firefight with insurgents in Ramadi, Iraq. This resulted in the loss of his right arm above the elbow and his right leg above the knee, as well as a traumatic brain injury.
Warren's Carpet One Floor & Home in Amherst, NY donated the flooring installation throughout the home. Thank you also to Madison Carpet One and Tontine Carpet One for their help on this project!
